Situating Tool
Situating tool is a system or application which situate the users or the learners in the environment where they can experience the context and enable the learners to conceptualize the ideas of reality. Few examples of situating tool includes PHET simulations, Graphical, Geogebra, virtual labs, etc. All these application enables the learners or the users to feel as if they were experiencing the context in reality and as a teacher its always important to help the learners to learn using the actual context and teachers are responsible for creating such context, however if they are not able to create an appropriate learning context, use of these simulation tools can be helpful and much more effective.
Its important to use these tools as it help learners to situate in a environment, it can also offer creativity and communication with different people across different place especially through virtual games. We can use this not only in the field of education, but we can also us it to find the places on earth through Google Earth as well as measure the distance between the places. Thus, situating tools can be an interesting as well as convenient in our everyday activities.
Thus, using one of the situating tool, Geogebra, we created a triangular shape.
Concept
Construction of a 2-D shaped triangle with an angle of 60 degree and all equal sides.
Procedures
Step by step process involved in construction of triangle.
Visit the geogebra.org website.
Click on Graphing and select geometry.
Draw two points A and B using Basic Tool Point
Draw a line segmenting point A and B
From point A draw a circle through B using the Circle with center through.
Again from point B draw a circle through A using the Circle with center through
Draw point at the place where the two circle intersect and mark it as C
Draw a line segmenting AC and BC
Hide the circle using Show/Hide Level and Show/Hide Object.
